General Info on Public Transportation

For transportation we advise you to use the Budapest public transportation website (http://www.bkk.hu/en/). All needed information (ticket and pass prices, schedules, etc.) is available in English. Single tickets cost 350 HUF (about 1,20 euro). The website of We love Budapest is very helpful as well and describes in detail the cheapest way to get to downtown (bus & metro).

The Residence Center is located in Budapest's 10th district, Kerepesi ut 87. To get there:

From Liszt Ferenc International Airport:

From Liszt Ferenc Airport, it is possible to take the Airport Shuttle. A one-way ticket costs 3200 HUF (about 11 EUR) (https://www.minibud.hu/en).

Alternatively, you can take an airport taxi with the official company, Fotaxi (the booth is just outside the arrival hall) which costs app. 7000 HUF (about 23 EUR) to the city center. For more information, please see here: http://fotaxi.eu/Read/187#main-menu.

The easiest is to get an airport minibus. A one way ticket costs 3,200 HUF / about 11 EUR (subject to change)

From Southern railway station (Deli palyaudvar):
Take the red metro (line 2) to Ors Vezer ter, this is the terminal of the red line. From here take the bus number 44,  45, 176E or 276E to Egyenes utcai lakotelep, where the Center is located.

From Western railway station (Nyugati Palyaudvar):
Take the blue metro (line 3) to Deak ter. Here change to the red metro (line 2) and go to Ors Vezer ter. Take the bus number 44,  45, 176E or 276E to Egyenes utcai lakotelep where the Center is located.

From Eastern railway station (Keleti Palyaudvar):
Take the red metro (line 2) to Ors Vezer ter. Here take the bus number 44, 45, 176E or 276E to Egyenes utcai lakotelep where the Center is located.

From Kerepesi Residence Center to CEU

Distance in time: 45 minutes 

Take bus 44 or 45 in front of the Kerepesi Center travel until Örs vezér square. From Örs vezér square take the red metro (line 2) to Deák square.There are many exits, when you leave the Deák square metro station. Find Erzsebet square and keep walking. Cross it on the diagonal path to József Attila Street. Turn left, find Nádor Street (Nador str - Zrinyi str corner).
