March 13, 14 and 18 saw our Natalie Zemon Davis Memorial Lecture Series for 2024. Ulinka Rublack from the University of Cambridge discussed clothing in Dürer’s paintings and correspondence, with the series culminating in a roundtable in memory of the late Natalie Zemon Davis.

The European Society for the History of Political Thought invites proposals for its 7th international conference on “Human Nature – Humans and Nature in the History of Political Thought”, to be held at Central European University in Vienna, on 25-27 September 2024.

Carolina Stutz: Recipient of the Gerd Bucerius History Scholarship

Carolina Stutz is the third recipient of the Gerd Bucerius History Scholarship. Originally from Argentina and raised in Chicago, Stutz completed her undergraduate studies at Northwestern University and is currently pursuing a one-year master’s degree in comparative history, specializing in early modern history.

Get a taste of studying in the department by watching one of our Open Classes. On the week beginning November 20, we opened up a selection of our classes to prospective students. BA (3rd and 4th year), MA and PhD students study in these classes, and PhD students also act as teaching assistants to gain experience for their future future careers.
