I am a historian of Modern Turkey, specializing in diplomatic and political history. During and after my Ph.D. study, I taught courses on Ottoman/Turkish history. These courses encompassed the 19th- 20th century modernization process of Turkey, economic and social transformations that the country experienced, and political developments that constituted major turning points not only for Turkey, but also for the surrounding environment. My areas of interest lie within Modern Turkish History, Modern Middle Eastern History, and Mediterranean History. I carried out archival research in several countries, wrote excerpts and presented papers on these areas.
