A video conference with the participation of the Department of History and  Pasts, Inc. together with ten European centers of research labeled 'Networking Europe – European History goes Online' on the occasion of the public launch of Europäische Geschichte Online (European History Online, EGO).

Moderator: László Kontler (Department of History / Pasts, Inc., CEU; member of the EGO Editorial Board)

EGO unlocks 500 years of modern European history (c. 1450–1950), crossing the bound¬aries of countries, disciplines, and scientific methods. Ten “threads” unfold processes of intercultural exchange in European history that had an impact beyond political, national, and cultural boundaries. They range from religion, science, politics and law to art and music, economy, technology and the military. EGO-contributions cross-link visual and written sources, statistics, animated and interactive maps, as well as audio and video sources.
