Iva Jelušić holds a BA in History and Philosophy from Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences in Rijeka (Croatia) and an MA in MATILDA European Master in Women's and Gender History from the Central European University (Budapest/Vienna). The title of her master thesis is "Making a Partisan: Founding Narratives on the Participation of Women in the People's Liberation Struggle in Yugoslavia".

She is currently writing a PhD dissertation focusing on the development of remembrance practices with particular focus on the figure of the female soldier, the partizanka, in the popular media of socialist Yugoslavia .

During the academic year 2020/2021 she is a visiting researcher at the Institute of Culture and Memory Studies at the Research Centre of the Slovenian Academy of Sciences and Arts (Ljubljana).
