On Wednesday, November 4, Professor Ilona Sarmany-Parsons gave a farewell lecture entitled "Art History in Transition" to members and friends of the Department of History. During her talk, Professor Sarmany-Parsons traced her own intellectual development against the backdrop of major changes in the field of art history in Hungary over the course of the twentieth century. Having taught courses at CEU since its inception in 1991, her presentation was especially meaningful for an audience of current students, faculty, and alumni who have benefited from her expertise and superb guided tours of Vienna and other cities in Central Europe. Although her teaching responsibilities at CEU have come to an end, Professor Sarmany-Parsons will continue to visit campus where she remains an esteemed member of our community.
