Academics at the Faculty of Social Sciences of ELTE University call a SOLIDARITY AND INFORMATION STRIKE on November 14, 2018 (Wednesday) to protest the banning of the Gender Studies masters degree program as well as the restriction of the University’s autonomy and the academic freedom of its researchers.

Zsófia Lóránd defended her doctoral dissertation at the Department of History in 2015 and was awarded a summa cum laude distinction. The dissertation also received the "Best Dissertation Award 2015" of CEU. Her research interest is the intellectual history of feminism in post-WWII state-socialist Eastern Europe and the conceptual and cultural history of violence and women's rights. Currently, she is a Research Fellow at the Lichtenberg-Kolleg of the Georg August University in Göttingen.
